It all begins with an idea.

PAPI, initially conceived as an affordable Italian eatery with authentic flavors, faced an unexpected twist of fate shortly after its grand opening. The world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, and like many businesses, PAPI had to pivot quickly to adapt and survive.

The challenges were immense. Dine-in service was no longer an option, and restrictions and lockdowns were in place. However, instead of despair, the husband and wife team at PAPI saw an opportunity to make a positive impact on their community. They decided to stay open and shifted their focus towards takeout and delivery services, ensuring that their delicious Italian cuisine could still reach the homes of their loyal customers.

But PAPI did more than just adapt; it extended a helping hand to the community. The restaurant started providing meals to the front lines – healthcare workers, first responders, and those in need. In doing so, they not only contributed to the fight against the pandemic but also created a sense of unity and family within their own team. Through this challenging time, they discovered that they were more than just a restaurant; they were a close-knit family with a shared purpose.

Fast forward three years and PAPI had not only survived but had thrived despite the numerous obstacles. The experience of persevering through the pandemic changed the restaurant's perspective on its identity and mission.

Coming from a family of restaurateurs and with a profound passion for food, the team at PAPI decided it was time to return to their Italian roots. The name PAPI which originally stood for affordable Italian food, took on a new, expanded meaning. PAPI now represented "Pasta And Pinsa" (a Roman-style pizza), and it signified a return to the essence of Italian cuisine.

The menu was reimagined, with a strong focus on classic Italian dishes made with love and care. The pinsa, a unique and delectable offering, became a signature item. The passion for authentic flavors, affordability, and a welcoming atmosphere remained, but now PAPI had an even deeper connection to its Italian heritage.

As PAPI embraced its Italian roots, it continued to serve not only delicious food but also a sense of family, warmth, and togetherness. The challenging days of the pandemic had transformed PAPI into a beloved Italian eatery that nourished the soul, feeding not only the stomachs of its customers but also their hearts with the essence of la dolce vita – the sweet life..
